Dutch Crafted Solar Seating was founded by Steve and Tracey Hawk after they realized there was a need for charging stations in remote areas and outdoor public gathering spaces.

In the development stages they sought out experts in aluminum fabrication and solar power.  They wanted a frame that was strong but wouldn’t rust and solar equipment that was powerful enough to charge several devices, plus support the motion lights, all at the same time.

For the seating material they chose dimensional lumber made from recycled plastic for its versality and vast color choices. This wood alternative is extremely durable, does not fade, is easy to clean and is insect resistant.

The Hawks live in a rural area surrounded by the Amish culture, known for superior craftsmanship and familiarity with renewable energy sources. It is within the Amish community that they found the knowledge and experience they needed to bring their idea to life. The Hawks, together with their Amish neighbors, have developed a durable, cutting-edge solar bench that fits well in any setting.
